TPS RANGE

   TAKISAWA TPS-4100

The Takisawa TPS range of machines have been specifically designed for the Piston manufacturing industry. There are models in the range to suit the requirements of high volume producers and alternatives to meet needs of small batch producers such as the Formula 1 car racing industry where most engines have pistons made on the Takisawa TPS machines.

Cam-less elliptical profile turning is achieved using a unique system developed by Takisawa. The cutting tools are mounted on the front of a ceramic spindle which is servo motor driven and moves simultaneously with the C-axis spindle motor.

To programme these very unique 3 dimensional elliptical shapes, special software has been developed again by Takisawa for use in conjunction with the Fanuc 160is-T control. This enables virtually unlimited permutations of profile geometry, greatly simplifies programming and provides graphic display of the component on the integral PC.

Because of the high accuracy’s required, temperature control is considered to be very important and coolant equipment is fitted with temperature stabilisers. When hydraulic units are included, these are also equipped with temperature control devices.

TPS-3100S

Semi-finish and finish turning of piston profile.

TPS-3200S

Specifically for piston ring manufacturer by producing the special ring profile on both outside and inside diameters.

TPS-3300

For producing oval and trumpet form, piston gudgeon pin bores.

TPS-3400

Semi-finish and finish turning of piston profile plus finish grooving

TPS-4100

A conventional 8 station turret for rough facing/turning/grooving, semi-finishing and finishing together with the same capability as the TPS-3100 for elliptical profile finishing.

TPS-5000

Fitted with two conventional 8 station turrets, top and bottom, allowing conventional 4 axis simultaneous machining of the piston i.e. turning, facing, grooving and also fitted with an elliptical turning slide.
